Report: Leeds United coaching staff really rate 18-year-old prospect, think he’s got great potential

Leeds United coaching staff have taken note of the huge potential of teenage midfielder Darko Gyabi.

That is according to Leeds Live, who claim that the 18-year-old is impressing the people he needs to impress after his summer move to Elland Road from Manchester United.

They say Gyabi was quickly promoted from the under-21 side and to the senior team as Jesse Marsch made a special effort to get the club’s best youngsters in his care.

Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and Archie Gray also represent the club’s brightest academy starlets and Marsch wanted to work with them closely.

Leeds coaches really rate Gyabi

Gyabi made his senior debut in the EFL Cup last month against Wolves on a night when Leeds unfortunately dropped to a 1-0 defeat.

He will hope that more exposure is to come with the frantic festive period coming up which could see lots of suspensions and injuries.

Leeds’ next Premier League game is actually against his former employers City and United States World Cup star Tyler Adams is suspended for that one.

Speaking to Leeds Live, Gyabi has recently spoken about his experience when he joined Leeds this summer.

“So crazy – it was so welcoming,” Gyabi said.

“When I first came I wasn’t really expecting it because they’re all first-team established, but they were so welcoming showing me around the training ground.”
