Leeds United’s hunt for one more attacking player has seen them linked with the likes of Rafinha, Rodrigo De Paul, and Ryan Kent in recent weeks.

They are also said to be among a host of clubs interested in Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

As reported by the Liverpool ECHO earlier this month, Leeds have been in touch with Liverpool regarding a move for the player, who is valued as high as £20 million by the Reds.

Now, Simon Stone of the BBC has commented on the deal in a transfer gossip video on the BBC website.

He claims that there is no chance of any deal going through before the club’s meet in their Premier League opener this weekend.

Instead, Liverpool and Leeds could potentially come to an agreement for the player next week, with an apparent £15m-plus fee involved.

This follows up on a previous report from the Daily Star, suggesting the same scenario.

It certainly makes sense that Liverpool would not be willing to sell Wilson to Leeds prior to meeting each other, in case he comes back to haunt his former club.

But should Leeds bring him in next week, they will hope it proves to be a shrewd addition, despite that slightly inflated price-tag.

Of course, other teams are also interested in Wilson, so this deal is far from done. But it seems there will be more movement on the topic of Wilson to Elland Road once this game is out of the way.
