Leeds United are reportedly one of several clubs interested in signing highly-rated prospect Josh Feeney from League One club Fleetwood Town.
The 16-year-old is a talented upcoming star who’s already featured on Fleetwood’s first-team bench in the last few matches, albeit he’s still waiting to make his senior debut.
According to the Daily Mail, there is interest from a host of clubs that are eyeing a potential swoop for the English teenager.
It is understood that Leeds, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanders have all made contact with Fleetwood over the last few months about the potential signature of the ball-playing defender.
The report explains though that Celtic could have an advantage in the race for him given cross-border compensation fees are significantly lower for academy players.
Feeney already has both England and Scotland fighting over his international allegiance after national call-ups from both to the Under-16s.

TBR’s View:
Despite the fact Feeney only turned 16 earlier this week, it’s remarkable that there are so many club vying for the centre-back’s signature.
If you look at the Premier League teams in pursuit, they are all extremely ambitious clubs. Leicester, in particular, have shown real nous in the transfer window during the last few years spotting young gems lower down the footballing ladder.
Leeds have a genuine path from their academy to Marcelo Bielsa’s first team at Elland Road, while it’s similar at Scottish giants Celtic.
