Leeds United have reportedly all-but completed a deal worth up to £15.5m for Junior Firpo, according to Sport.

The Spanish outlet claims that the 24-year-old has flown to England to put the finishing touches on the move to Elland Road.

Firpo will undergo a medical with the Whites and, once completed, the transfer will be made official – in theory this weekend, added the report.

Leeds will reportedly pay 15m (around £12.9m) euro initially, with a potential 3m euro (around £2.6m) extra in add-ons.

Firpo joined Barcelona from Real Betis two seasons ago, but has struggled to dislodge first-choice Jordi Alba from the XI.

To date, he has made 41 appearances and scoring two goals during his time at the club.

Last season, Barca told Firpo that he wasn’t in their plans for the 2021-22 campaign, according to Sport.

The report added that the La Liga side prioritised a sale and, with Leeds interested in buying Firpo, the parties struck a deal.

West Ham were reportedly eyeing the defender as well, but he was keen to join Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
