Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts is on Bournemouth’s radar as the January transfer window gets underway, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Roberts has played a peripheral role for the Whites since their promotion to the Premier League. He has not featured in any of Leeds’ last four league games.

And it appears that he may be offered the chance to move this month. According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth are keen on the 21-year-old. It is suggested that they are monitoring Roberts as they prepare to receive offers for David Brooks and Joshua King.

A report from the Daily Mail towards the end of the last transfer window suggested that Brooks was valued by Bournemouth at around £40 million.

It is not clear whether the Cherries are looking at a potential loan or permanent transfer for Roberts. And it remains to be seen how Leeds would respond should they receive an offer.

TBR View: Roberts needs loan move

Roberts has been a player who has shown glimpses of his quality since his £2.5 million move to Elland Road (fee reported by the Daily Mail).

He is also a player who provides depth in a number of roles. The Wales international can play up front, as a number 10 or out wide.

It seems too soon to write him off. He is still developing. And some of his performances in the Championship certainly hinted that he could be destined for an incredibly bright future.

But he arguably needs regular game-time if he is going to realise that potential. Loaning him out therefore, is surely the way forward for both Leeds and Roberts.
