Leeds United have been continuously linked with a move for Fiorentina midfielder Erick Pulgar and the latest reports have handed the Whites a potential transfer boost – as Fiorentina News claim the Whites can nab him for a bargain figure.

Pulgar, 26, has been sensational for Fiorentina since joining the club from Bologna. The 24-time Chile international joined La Viola in the summer of 2019 and instantly made an impact, having a hand in 15 goals during 41 appearances.

However, this season, he has failed to replicate those stats. Clocking up a further 13 appearances for Fiorentina this season, he has failed to lay on one goal or assist – but despite that, Leeds are interested in raiding the Italian side to bring him to Yorkshire.

Now, Fiorentina News claims interested parties can get the midfielder for a figure of £10.8million. Leeds tried to sign a midfielder in the summer, but were priced out of a move for Rodrigo De Paul – and Michael Cuisance failed a medical.

TBR’s view – Crawley defeat highlights need for midfielder

Mateusz Klich was rested on Sunday, and it meant that the Whites combined Pascal Struijk and Pablo Hernandez in central midfield. Clearly, Hernandez is a winger that can play as a 10 and Struijk is a centre-back.

Leeds need cover in the middle of the park – without a doubt. If they can bring in a player such as Pulgar, and for a bargain figure, then they would be solving a big issue that has dogged Marcelo Bielsa’s side throughout the season so far.

At just £10.8million, Pulgar is surely a no brainer.
