Leeds United are planning to make a last-ditch bid to try and sign Liverpool wide-man Yasser Larouci, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (4/10; page 74).

The Whites had been linked with Larouci earlier in the window. Goal reported back in July that Marcelo Bielsa was interested in the 19-year-old.

However, it appeared that their interest had cooled. Foot Afrique suggested that Leeds were unwilling to meet Liverpool’s valuation of £2 million.

But it now seems that Leeds may be readying one final attempt to land Larouci.

The Sunday Mirror (4/10; page 74) reports that the Whites will make a late bid for the teenager. It is noted that Larouci wants to leave Anfield with his contract expiring next summer.

The Mirror does suggest that Liverpool are expecting a number of bids for the Algerian. So it would appear that Leeds will not enjoy a clear run to his signature. Although, the Mirror also adds that the Reds would rather lose him to an English club.

TBR View: Leeds may benefit from signing a more natural left-back

Stuart Dallas has started all of Leeds’s Premier League games at left-back so far. And in fairness, the Northern Irishman has been superb in the opening stages of the campaign, as he was last season.

Nevertheless, it may make sense to sign a more natural left-back as well. Leif Davis is showing promise, but he can also provide cover in the middle. And Barry Douglas is unfortunately struggling to get into the matchday squad.

Larouci could potentially provide some stronger competition for Dallas. And he can also play further down the line.

So perhaps, a move in the final hours of the window could be best for both clubs, as well as Larouci himself.
