Report: Leeds target Orkan Kokcu wanted by AC Milan
According to La Razon back in March, Leeds are wanting to sign Feyenoord midfielder, Orkan Kokcu, but that plan may now be in danger thanks to AC Milan.
That’s because Di Marzio claims that Milan have already initiated contact with Kokcu and could look to wrap a deal up before Leeds even get a proper look in.
Di Marzio reports that Milan have held a meeting between Kokcu’s representatives with the view of making a move this summer. The midfielder, still just 20, has become one of the standout performers in the Netherlands this season.
Kokcu plays bang in the middle of the park and is said to be available on a bargain deal. Indeed, Leeds’ links to the Turkish star suggested Kokcu could be signed for as little as £10m this summer.
However, Milan look like they could throw a spanner in the works for Leeds. The Whites have enjoyed a stellar season back in the Premier League but the focus will now shift to the summer and improving further.
TBR View: Kokcu ideal for Leeds but Milan hard to turn down
If Leeds do want to sign the Feyenoord ace, then they better act fast. The lure, history, and size of AC Milan means Kokcu will probably find it hard to reject a move if terms are agreed.
Marcelo Bielsa does need improvements this summer. Leeds can’t afford to stand still and will be looking at what happened to Sheffield United as the ideal model not to follow.
Kokcu has the quality and potential to be a real player, and at £10m is a real bargain. Milan’s move, then, may just spark Victor Orta into life.
