West Ham United appear to have won the race to sign Frederik Alves Ibsen, with Danish outlet BT reporting that the Leeds United target is set to undergo a medical with the Hammers imminently.
The Silkeborg youngster’s future has been a talking point for a little while. BT claimed in another report last month that the Whites wanted the 20-year-old, who had previously been linked with the Irons.
Unfortunately for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, it appears that they are now set to miss out.
BT’s latest report has claimed that Ibsen is in London to undergo a medical. It is noted that West Ham are set to pay a fee of between £1.2 million and £1.45 million.
And BT also adds that Ibsen is about to sign a contract until 2024 when he moves in January.
TBR View: Coup for West Ham
It looks to be a real coup for West Ham that they are seemingly about to win the race to sign Ibsen.
He is a player who has already made 50 appearances for his current club’s first-team. He is also a player who has made a couple of appearances in both full-back roles, as well as holding midfield.
Leeds have looked to sign some incredibly exciting young players in recent times. The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh and Sam Greenwood look destined for bright futures at Elland Road.
So it looks to be a big statement for West Ham to reportedly be on the cusp of securing his signature.
