Leeds United have made enquiries concerning Omar Colley’s availability in recent days, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.

Colley has made 22 appearances for Sampdoria in Serie A this season. And based on recent reports, it appears that he is attracting a lot of attention.

ClubDoria46 reported late last month that the Whites, West Ham, Newcastle and Fulham are all interested in bringing the 28-year-old to the Premier League.

That report claimed that his asking price is set to be around £13 million.

It does not appear that Leeds are in desperate need of signing a new centre-back. But it seems that Marcelo Bielsa’s side have stepped up their interest.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Leeds have made contact to learn about his situation in recent days.

The report suggests that he will be allowed to leave Sampdoria despite only recently signing a new contract.

TBR View: Leeds links surprising

It will be interesting to see if Leeds do indeed make a move for Colley. They now have four impressive centre-back options to pick from. Meanwhile, Gaetano Berardi has not yet made a first-team appearance since returning from injury.

Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch are either at or reaching their peaks. Pascal Struijk is a player who could play at the highest level for years to come.

Colley will turn 29 before the end of the year. He could be an impressive signing, but Leeds fans would surely be forgiven for feeling that other areas of the squad need to be focused on.
