Leeds United are reportedly interested in teenager Conner Rennison from Hartlepool United.
According to TEAMtalk, the Whites are joined by Newcastle United and Middlesbrough in the hunt for the 16-year-old.
But the report details that it’s League One Barnsley that are a step ahead in trying to sign the midfielder and he’s currently training with them.
It is understood that Barnsley are readying an offer to try take him to Oakwell and he will be able to move for free at the end of the season, as he’s not yet on a professional deal with non-league club Hartlepool.

TBR’s View:
Rennison is a highly-rated talent that is attracting interest from higher leagues despite not making his first-team debut for Hartlepool.
He’s an all-action central midfielder that is strong both offensively and defensively, but is still at the beginning of his path into senior football.
Leeds would surely have to step up their interest in the teenager if they want to take him to Elland Road, but it seems like Barnsley are in the ascendancy.
Marcelo Bielsa has shown this campaign there is a real path into the Whites first team from the academy, with the likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton.
