Leeds United had scouts in attendance on Friday to watch Boubakary Soumare, but the Daily Mail reports that they may be running out of time to make a move.
Soumare is arguably one of the most talented young players coming through in Ligue 1 right now. He has made 30 appearances for league leaders Lille.

And his form is not going unnoticed in the Premier League. According to the Daily Mail, both Leeds and Everton scouted the 22-year-old last week as Lille beat Lens 3-0.
However, the Whites and the Toffees look to be in danger of missing out. The Daily Mail reports that Leicester City have now opened talks over a £21 million move for the starlet.

It is noted that Lille are hoping that there will be rival bids to come for Soumare. So that may leave the likes of Leeds and Everton with hope.
TBR View: Leeds can set sights on repeating 2020 transfer masterstrokes
It does currently appear that Leeds are underdogs in the race to sign Soumare. The Daily Mail notes that he wishes to join a team challenging for European football.
Having said that, Leeds may fancy their chances of signing the youngster.
Of course, they have produced two particularly inspired pieces of business when signing players from France in the last couple of years.
Illan Meslier has proved to be an outstanding prospect after initially joining on loan from Lorient.
Signing Raphinha meanwhile, was a masterstroke. And crucially, Leeds managed to convince the Brazilian to leave Champions League football with Rennes behind to move to Elland Road.
