Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Leeds United are tracking Boca Juniors midfielder Nahitan Nandez, along with three other Serie A sides.
The 23-year-old is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Argentinian giants, despite being a regular part of the Gustavo Alfaro’s side. He has managed just 13 appearances this season.
The 20-time Uruguay international has had to endure a foot injury earlier in the season, which saw him miss nine games between October and February. Now, he is back in the side after two goals in his last two games.
The report claims Boca are interested in renewing Nandez’s contract. But the midfielder’s head could sway, with Cagliari pressing hardest to land the former CA Penarol star’s signature.

Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Leeds are also said to be keen on the versatile midfielder, who would be a somewhat ambitious signing for the Whites – especially if Leeds do not gain promotion to the Premier League.
TBR’s view
Leeds have plenty of options in midfield, but promotion to the Premier League means they need to improve. Adam Forshaw is not good enough, while Tyler Roberts is still learning his trade.
Bringing in Nandez will provide the Whites with Premier League quality alongside Matuesz Klich, in front of Kalvin Phillips. He starred at the 2018 World Cup with Uruguay, and he would certainly be a coup for Leeds.
It remains to be seen how much Boca would charge for the midfielder.
