According to Mundo Deportivo, Rafa Mujica has said goodbye to Barcelona B, and they have further speculated that he is set to join Leeds United.
If the Whites are keen to bring the 20-year-old forward to Elland Road, then the report of his farewell to Barcelona will be welcome news.
Mujica would certainly be a smart addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad. The attacker was in fine form last season, scoring seven goals for Barcelona’s second string outfit. He is a hard-working, gifted forward who would suit Bielsa’s style of play well.
The Argentine coach is well known for his habit of placing faith in young players. Mujica could be another example of this. He could also become yet another youngster to flourish under Bielsa’s guidance.
What’s more, Leeds desperately need to add greater depth to their squad. The Yorkshire club narrowly missed out on promotion last season. The Whites need to ensure that they have enough firepower to get over the line this time around.

These are exciting times at Elland Road. The fact that Leeds are targeting this graduate of the Barcelona academy is indicative of that. Bringing Mujica to the club would be a good first step in the preparations for the coming campaign. Considering Jack Clarke is reportedly set to join Tottenham Hotspur, Mujica’s versatility even makes him a potential replacement for Clarke on the flank.
