Report: Leeds prospect to join European club on loan; 'will sign the contract' soon
Leeds United prospect Mateusz Bogusz is close to joining Spanish side UD Ibiza on loan for the season.
According to Polish outlet WP SportoweFakty, the 19-year-old midfielder has already flown to the Spanish island to complete the transfer. As per the report, Bogusz ‘will sign the contract’ soon with the Segunda Division side.
Bogusz spent last season with UD Logrones, where the midfielder made 24 appearances in total for the Spanish club. The Poland U-21 international only managed one goal for the side.
The youngster has only ever made two appearances for Leeds since joining the club in January 2019.
Bogusz looks set to become the first player to leave Marcelo Bielsa’s side this summer on loan. Leeds have already confirmed that the likes of Barry Douglas, Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi have departed the club.
Leeds also announced this week that fan favourite Ezgjan Alioski has also left the club following the expiration of his contract this summer.
As per WP SportoweFakty, Bogusz believed a second loan spell away from Leeds was needed ahead of next season. And the Polish midfielder will hopefully flourish his spell with Ibiza.
Whilst Bogusz played in the Segunda Division last season with Logrones, the midfielder disappointed overall, with the teenager scoring just once in 24 games. And for Ibiza, the youngster will want to prove himself to both his new supporters and to Leeds fans back home in Yorkshire.
