Report: Leeds' players were very impressed by summer signing from the first minute he walked into training
Adams was part of Jesse Marsch’s attempts to replace Kalvin Phillips during the American’s first transfer window in charge.
And Saturday night’s 2-1 win at Anfield saw Adams play as well as he has in a white shirt, as Leeds got their first league win since August.
The Athletic have produced an article with some background on Adams’ attitude to the game and how that has gone down in the dressing room.
Leeds squad impressed by Adams
The report says the Leeds dressing room were impressed by Adams’ self-confidence almost as soon as he signed for the club.
He took next to no time to settle and became almost part of the furniture right away, helping Leeds move on from the loss of Phillips.
Marsch likes Adams’ drive, aggression and personality, while some insiders describe them as being similar types of characters
Adams apparently knows what he wants and is not afraid to speak out if he feels something is wrong, while he is no respecter of the reputations of opponents.
It is no easy task trying to fill the void that Phillips left, and Leeds were also trying to allow Marsch to shape his own squad in his own image.
He inherited a group which had got back into the Premier League on the back of Marcelo Bielsa’s unique style and getting away from that took some adjusting.
Adams will be looking to build on his Anfield performance and further impress in his maiden season in English football, as Leeds look to push up the league now.
