Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has delivered an update on his personal website that will delight Leeds United fans, with the Whites said to have overtaken Newcastle United in the race to sign Facundo Colidio.
FC Inter News broke both Leeds and Newcastle’s interest last Friday, claiming a loan-to-buy deal could be agreed for the 19-year-old striker. It is believed a clause would be worth between £7.3million and £9.2million.
Di Marzio then reported hours after the initial story that Newcastle were winning the race. But with Kemar Roofe seemingly off to Belgian side Anderlecht, it is believed that Leeds may have pressed on in their bid to sign Colidio.
Indeed, it is claimed Newcastle have cooled their interest with Steve Bruce happy with his options up front, and that has seen Leeds look to step up the chance to sign Colidio. A deal is being negotiated at the moment.
Di Marzio has claimed that an agreement between Leeds and Inter Milan could be reached on Monday.

TBR’s view – Colidio young, but could be a Leeds gem
You are no slouch is you have reached Inter’s bench on three separate occasions for Serie A matches at just 19 years of age. Yet to make a senior appearance for the Italian outfit, but Colidio is certainly close.
What could see Colidio shine at Elland Road is the Argentine connection between himself and manager Marcelo Bielsa. Having such a legend of Argentine football as his manager, Colidio can shine.
