Report: Leeds monitoring Belgium international Charles De Ketelaere
Leeds United are amongst the Premier League clubs to have been watching Charles De Ketelaere closely in recent months, according to a report from TEAMtalk.
De Ketelaere has enjoyed a real breakout year with Club Brugge. He has scored 17 goals and contributed nine assists in all competitions.
And it would appear that he could be offered the chance to move to the Premier League in the summer.
TEAMtalk reports that Wolves, Newcastle and Leicester City have been monitoring the 21-year-old. But Leeds are also in the running to sign De Ketelaere.
The report adds that there is major interest from the likes of AC Milan and Lyon.
The young forward has recently hinted that he would be open to moving to the Premier League in the future.
De Ketelaere would be a hugely exciting signing for Leeds
De Ketelaere looks to be a ‘fantastic‘ talent with a huge future ahead. It says a lot that he is already in the Belgium fold, with six caps under his belt.
He has predominantly played as a striker for Club Brugge this season. But he can play almost anywhere in midfield or attack. He has even made one appearance as a central midfielder this term.
Leeds need more depth across the pitch, particularly up front. Unfortunately, it has been a hugely frustrating season for Patrick Bamford. And the Whites have tended to struggle for consistent goalscorers in his absence.
De Ketelaere is the kind of player who can lead the line. But he could also feature elsewhere when Bamford is available, too.
So it would be an incredibly exciting statement if Leeds manage to sign De Ketelaere.
