Leeds United have cooled their interest in Erick Pulgar, with Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb reporting that the Whites could have another look in the summer.
Whites fans have been expecting a quiet January window. Marcelo Bielsa has only made a handful of signings in the winter during his tenure.
Nevertheless, they have still been linked with some potential targets. And according to Tuttomercatoweb, they are one of the sides most interested in Pulgar.
Pulgar has struggled for game-time this term. But he has previously been hugely impressive for Fiorentina, scoring seven and providing six assists in Serie A last year.
Calciomercato recently claimed that Leeds were prepared to bid £22.25 million for the Chile international. However, it appears that Pulgar will not be arriving at Elland Road – in this window at least.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Leeds have now cooled their interest. It is suggested that the Whites could look at Pulgar or fellow target Rodrigo De Paul once again in the summer if they have not already been on the move.
It is not clear why Leeds’ interest in Pulgar has cooled. But in truth, it would have always been a surprise had they indeed made such a substantial bid in this window.
The encouraging news for Whites fans hoping to see players such as Pulgar and De Paul arrive, is that it appears that Leeds are not planning to take them off their wishlist altogether.
