Leeds United are looking to agree a new contract with Patrick Bamford following his outstanding start to the Premier League season, according to a report from The Sun.

Bamford has silenced many of his doubters following Leeds’s promotion. The 27-year-old has scored 10 goals for Marcelo Bielsa’s side to help establish the Whites in mid-table.

The Sun notes that Bamford is out of contract at Elland Road in 18 months. And it is claimed that Leeds are wary of future interest in the striker.

Therefore, the club are reportedly planning to offer the £35,000-a-week star fresh terms. It is noted that he is in line for a lucrative new deal.

TBR View: Bamford deserves new contract after superb run

Bamford is one of several Leeds players who has stepped up since they started playing in the top flight.

Even his biggest supporters would not have expected the Englishman to be in double figures before the turn of the year. And some of his goals have simply been world-class.

As things stand, it would arguably be a surprise if he had any interest in leaving Leeds. He clearly boasts a very good relationship with Marcelo Bielsa.

There is a sense that Leeds have not yet reached their full potential. And Bamford will surely be desperate to extend his stay and make sure that he is leading the line for as long as possible.
