Report: Leeds keen on £30m-rated Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno

Leeds United are keen to add Rodrigo Moreno to their ranks this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who has suggested in his latest piece that he could be Elland Road bound.

Valencia recently places every player except for Jose Gaya on the transfer list and Leeds have asked the question regarding the hitman.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa will be desperate to add some firepower to his ranks, with Patrick Bamford the only senior striker currently on the books at the West Yorkshire-based club.

The 29-year-old missed the end of last season with a knee problem, but still enjoyed a decent campaign during 2019/20.

Rodrigo fired in seven goals and registered 11 assists, highlighting that his game is about far more than simply sticking the ball in the net.

It’s been a slow start to the transfer window for the Whites with youngsters Joe Gelhardt and Cody Drameh the only two arrivals at this stage.

With the season just a few weeks away, the club would dearly love to step up their recruitment drive and add a few players before the big kick-off.

Rodrigo has 22 caps for Spain and signed for Valencia from Benfica, paying in the region of £27 million to secure his signature.

Leeds might be able to take advantage of the financial predicament at Valencia and secure themselves a solid addition to their squad.

Rodrigo is still valued at around £30 million but given his quality that could prove to be a steal.

Bielsa loves players who are more than just a one-trick pony and given his 11 assists last season, it’s obvious he’s about more than scoring goals.

Leeds are badly in need of another frontman and in Bielsa’s all-action system played on the front foot, Rodrigo could be one to watch for the Whites next season.
