Report: Leeds interested in Derby captain Tom Lawrence this summer
Leeds United are interested in Tom Lawrence, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Whites are amongst a host of clubs keen on signing the Wales international this summer.
Lawrence will be a free agent in the coming weeks. His contract with Derby County expires imminently. The Daily Mail reports that he is expected to leave Pride Park.
The 28-year-old did score 11 times in the Championship this season as they failed to keep themselves away from dropping into League One. And he captained the side as they battled to keep themselves in the second tier.

Leeds interested in Tom Lawrence
Leeds have given themselves a lifeline in the battle to stay up in the Premier League. But just before their dramatic equaliser against Brighton on Sunday, the atmosphere inside Elland Road started to turn a little toxic.
The board came in for criticism and there was support for former manager Marcelo Bielsa. And with that, their recruitment this summer is going to come under a lot of scrutiny.
A move for Lawrence therefore, will not go down well with plenty of fans. Of course, there is plenty of animosity between Leeds and Derby. And he also spent more than a decade on the books at Old Trafford.
He is a player capable of ‘brilliance‘. And on a free transfer, he could prove to be a good signing for someone.
But the Leeds hierarchy are under massive pressure this summer. If they decide to sign Lawrence, they would need him to be an unbelievably inspired addition to silence the doubters.
