Leeds United are reportedly one of 12 clubs that are circling to try sign Chelsea’s in demand midfielder Conor Gallagher, who is “likely” to depart the club on a temporary basis on loan.
According to Football.London, Marcelo Bielsa’s team are one of several that are interested in the 20-year-old and they would like him at Elland Road next season.
It is understood that Crystal Palace are keen on the England Under-21 international, while Fulham and Southampton are also named as potential suitors.
The report explains that Crystal Palace and Leeds have both eyed permanent deals or loan deals with an option to buy, but Chelsea are not prepared to sell their academy graduate.
Gallagher will reportedly be heading out on loan next season with the move preferably a top-flight team, but Palace may be at a disadvantage as Chelsea want him to join someone who play a similar style to Frank Lampard’s side.
Palace were linked (The Sun) with Gallagher back in July and were preparing a £10million offer, but a loan now looks the most likely move.

TBR’s View:
Gallagher has returned to Stamford Bridge after a season out on loan in the Championship, where he spent time with Charlton Athletic and then Swansea City.
He is a versatile central midfielder that can get forward to contribute in the final third, plus he’s got the passing ability to act as a deep-lying playmaker and help dictate the game.
Leeds need to strengthen the squad as they prepare for life back in the top-flight and the tenacious work-rate of Gallagher looks like he could be an ideal fit for Marcelo Bielsa’s team, but the competition for his signature is understandably tough.
