Leeds United have already made an offer for Lyon winger Maxwel Cornet this summer, Olympique de Lyonais report.
Leeds have been linked with Cornet, and claims in France now suggest that Victor Orta has lodged a bid.
Unfortunately for Leeds their offer of just over £10 million has fallen short of Lyon’s asking price.
That means that the Whites will have to raise their offer to land the Ivory Coast international if they are to sign him, which is something they have not yet done.
If Leeds were to land Cornet he would add to their options going forward.
Guardiola praise
His pace naturally makes him a real threat, and Cornet is a player who has earned plaudits of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola before.
“I was very impressed by the talent of Maxwel Cornet,” Guardiola said after the game, after City took on Lyon in the Champions League to Tellereport.

Unfortunately for Leeds any deal looks like it will be relatively tough to pull off, at the current price they are bidding.
The Sun has claimed that Lyon want £20 million for the forward, so Leeds will almost have to double their first offer if those reports are correct.
