ESPN have claimed that Leeds United have seen a season-long loan offer for Manchester United winger Daniel James rejected, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side looking to sell the Wales international on a permanent basis for £25million.
It is well-documented that 22-year-old star James almost swapped Swansea for Leeds in January 2019. The Welsh speedster is shown in Amazon Prime’s documentary ‘Take Us Home’ even posing with a Leeds shirt, holding up the number 21 shirt.
But a move fell through. That summer, he joined Manchester United and he clocked up 46 appearances in all competitions – starting in stunning form and finishing with figures of four goals and laying on seven assists, helping United finish in third.
The latest report claims Victor Orta wants to sign James again, but have had a loan bid rejected. Manchester United want to sell him permanently to fund a move for Jadon Sancho – but want as much as £25million for the speed machine.

TBR’s view – James a good signing, but £25m far too expensive
Leeds, or any club, are not going to pay the eight-figure fee for James. Yes, he is still 22 and played plenty of matches for United last season, but he struggled towards the end of the campaign and is hardly worth that kind of figure.
Would James even start for Leeds? Jack Harrison has started the season in supreme form and Helder Costa is showing he is a Premier League player. Yes, a good addition on loan, but not for a permanent fee – especially at £25million.
