Leeds United have joined the race to sign Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham Hotspur in the last few hours, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.
The Whites are off to a brilliant start to the new season. Jesse Marsch’s men have won two of their opening three games. And they stunned Chelsea and won 3-0 on Sunday.

Funnily enough, their record is exactly the same as Tottenham Hotspur’s. And the two teams have actually faced the same three opponents so far.
But Leeds may look to strengthen further before the transfer window closes. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Whites have entered the battle to sign Tanganga.

Meanwhile, there is also interest from AC Milan, Newcastle and Everton.
Talks with Milan have hit a stumbling block with Spurs keen to simply loan the 23-year-old out. The Rossoneri meanwhile, want a deal which could lead to a permanent move further down the line.
Leeds have joined Tanganga race
Tanganga is an interesting target for Leeds. The priorities for many supporters would be signing a new left-back and striker before the deadline passes.
Tanganga is extremely versatile. But he is predominantly a right-back and centre-back.
In fairness, Rasmus Kristensen has not had the best start at Elland Road. And Marsch may feel that Tanganga could be a smart loan addition with Luke Ayling coming back from injury and Cody Drameh still developing.
It would be a surprise if Tanganga did join Leeds. But he is an ‘amazing‘ talent. And Leeds are off to a really encouraging start to the season.
And if the Whites are willing to offer any kind of assurances over game-time, he could be a really shrewd signing.
