Leeds United have received a boost in their pursuit of QPR midfielder, Eberechi Eze, with Crystal Palace now seemingly out of the race to sign the Championship star.

The news comes as a report from The Sun claims that Palace is unwilling to go any higher than their £12m offer that QPR have swiftly swatted away.

It is reported that QPR wants closer to £20m for their key man, a fee that officials at Selhurst Park believe is too high for the Championship midfielder.

That, then, could open the door for Leeds United to press ahead with their own pursuit. Indeed, just two weeks back, The Sun claimed Leeds were on the tail of Eze following their promotion to the Premier League. West Ham is also known to be keen on the 22-year-old.

Eze is thought to be open to leaving this summer after impressing once again for the Rs. The midfield ace is keen to make the step into the PL and prove himself at a higher level.

Leeds are being linked with a host of players this summer but getting Eze would send out a fairly strong statement to their rivals.

With so many clubs, including Yorkshire rivals, Sheffield United, interested in Eze, it could really lay down a marker for the Whites as they embark on their return to the top-flight.

Goals, assists, power, and creativity, all things associated with the QPR man and all things Leeds need to compete in the PL.

Even at around £20m, it would still be a good deal, especially, given that Eze is only 22 and will only get better under Marcelo Bielsa.
