Report: Leeds eye Noni Madueke; Bayern Munich also admirers
Leeds United are one of the teams interested in signing Noni Madueke, according to a report from the London Evening Standard, with Bayern Munich also one of his admirers.
Madueke has enjoyed a real breakout campaign at PSV Eindhoven. The former Tottenham trainee has scored eight goals and provided eight assists across the Eredivisie and Europa League.
And his form is not going unnoticed outside of the Netherlands. The 19-year-old is being tracked by the likes of Leeds, Crystal Palace and Bayern, according to the London Evening Standard.
It is not clear whether any of the interested sides are planning a move anytime soon. But they will surely be aware that the queue of clubs chasing him will only grow.
TBR View: Madueke ticks a lot of boxes for Bielsa
Leeds have signed a number of young players from the Dutch leagues in recent years. Pascal Struijk has gone on to become a first-team player at Elland Road.
Meanwhile, Crysencio Summerville is one of the most exciting prospects in the club’s under-23s. They also have Dani van den Heuvel looking to make the grade.
So it would be no surprise if Madueke was indeed on Leeds’s radar. But there is another obvious reason why he looks to be the kind of player Marcelo Bielsa would like to work with.
Madueke has made the majority of his appearances up front this season. But he has also featured on both wings. And he has even been deployed in the role behind the striker.
With that versatility and his impressive return of goals and assists, it is not difficult to see why Leeds have reportedly put themselves in the running.
