Report: Leeds eye Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed
Leeds United are monitoring Harrison Reed and considering making a move for the Fulham midfielder in the transfer window, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Whites are gearing up for their second year back in the Premier League. Marcelo Bielsa’s men were one of the most exciting sides in the division.
Leeds fans will be hoping to see some further marquee additions. But they will also hope Victor Orta adds to the depth within the squad.
And one player reportedly on their radar is Reed. According to the Daily Mail, Leeds want the Fulham man.
The 26-year-old impressed for Scott Parker’s side this past season. Unfortunately, their campaign ended in relegation. But Reed was one of the players who looked more than comfortable at the highest level.
Leeds signing Reed in transfer window could be incredibly shrewd move
Reed is not a headline-grabbing player. But he is someone who could potentially thrive in a side managed by Marcelo Bielsa.
He seems to strike the perfect balance between being combative out of possession and classy when he does have the ball.
Leeds could always do with more cover for Kalvin Phillips. Robin Koch was excellent later on, but it was often a struggle when Bielsa was unable to call on the Englishman.
Reed can also play in the number eight role. Stuart Dallas was outstanding this past season. But his versatility is so important to Leeds.
And as he cost Fulham £6 million, according to Sky Sports, perhaps Leeds are hoping that he may be available at a reasonable price.
If he is, he could prove to be an inspired addition for Bielsa’s men as they look to build on this past season’s success.
