Leeds United have reportedly joined the race for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Ivan Sunjic.
According to the Daily Mail, the Whites have launched a bid for the 22-year-old as they look to bring him to Elland Road.
It is understood that Championship outfit Birmingham City have already made a £3.5million offer for the defensive midfielder at the Croatian club.
The report details that Leeds have turned to him as a potential target, as they fear they could lose Kalvin Phillips amid interest from Aston Villa and are holding out for £30million.
Sunjic would be a like-for-like replacement as he’s a young defensive midfielder with great potential.
He captained Croatia’s Under-21s side at the European Championships this summer, while he’s just enjoyed a brilliant individual campaign at club level.
The deep-lying playmaker helped Dinamo Zagreb win the Croatian top-flight title, while he also had plenty of experience in European football too.
He made 41 first-team appearances last season across all competitions and Leeds are hopefully of tempting him to Elland Road.

TBR’s View:
Sunjic is a talented midfielder mature beyond his years already and has been capped at senior level by World Cup runners-up Croatia.
He’s already had a full campaign of Europa League football under his belt and would surely be a shrewd addition to the Leeds group, where he would fit Marcelo Bielsa’s possession-based style.
But Phillips proved his value to the Yorkshire club last season and trying to replace him would be a sizeable task if he exits.
