Report: Leeds discover price tag for 15-goal target; would cost more than Rodrigo
Bournemouth have placed a £35m price tag on star winger and reported Leeds United target Arnaut Danjuma.
According to the Sun via the Mirror, the former Dutch international will only be allowed to leave the Cherries this summer for a Championship-record bid.
Leeds are one of many clubs keen on the Nigerian-born attacker, including Leicester City and West Ham United.
ANTONIO CONTE WILL BE A SPURS DISASTER.
Indeed, Leeds are on the hunt for a winger this summer. Furthermore, Danjuma has spoken in the past how he would like to play for a club like Leeds.
The attacker said in an interview with Voetbal International: “I have outgrown the Championship. A club like Leeds would be a great step.”
However, it is unlikely that Leeds will fork out the £35m for Danjuma. The Yorkshire side broke their transfer record last summer to sign Rodrigo from Valencia according to BBC Sport for £29m.
Although Danjuma hit an impressive 15 goals in the Championship last season and was named Bournemouth’s Player of the Year, Leeds would find it difficult to justify spending £35m on the 24-year-old forward.
Marcelo Bielsa will be eager to sign Premier League-level talent ahead of next season.
And whilst Danjuma has just had his most productive years in his career, £35m would be a big financial risk for Leeds heading into their second season back in the top-flight.
