Report: Leeds could make Adama Traore move if Daniel James leaves
Leeds United are open to letting Daniel James leave amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur, and 90min reports that the Whites could make a move for Adama Traore as a replacement.
James’ future is one of the key talking points ahead of the final hours of the transfer window. Perhaps surprisingly, he is on the radar of Antonio Conte.
James has not had the easiest time at Leeds so far. But reports this week claimed that many Premier League sides would be keen to sign the Wales international becomes available.
It seems that Tottenham lead the charge to lure James away. 90min reports that Spurs have held talks with the Whites about a late move. And Leeds are reportedly open to letting him go.
Meanwhile, Jesse Marsch’s men could target Adama if James does leave. Leeds have been linked with the Spain international on several occasions in recent years. So some supporters may roll their eyes at the fresh reports.
Interestingly, Tottenham may have their eye on Leeds targeting Adama. Reports recently claimed that he wants to join Spurs, but has been priced out of a move in this window.
Leeds could make Adama Traore move
If Spurs are being priced out of a move for Adama, the signs are surely ominous for Leeds.
Certainly, if Tottenham feel that they can get James, then Leeds are unlikely to be left with the kind of funds that will convince Wolves to sell the former Barcelona man to them.
Adama is an ‘incredible‘ talent in full flight. But he is surely the player who immediately comes to mind for most when thinking about those who have all the tools, yet do not produce anything like the output they should.
Some Leeds fans will get on board with the idea of selling James if another signing – preferably a striker – comes in.
Selling James to try and sign Adama however, would not go down well with a fanbase which is growing frustrated with the club’s hierarchy’s inaction in the final stages of the window.
