Carlos Corberan’s appointment at Huddersfield Town could tempt Marcelo Bielsa to start loaning some of Leeds United’s brightest prospects out, with The Sun on Sunday (26/7; page 63) reporting that the Whites may let Robbie Gotts join the Championship side this summer.
Gotts has enjoyed an interesting season at Elland Road. He has been in many of Bielsa’s matchday squads, but only managed two first-team appearances for the Whites.

In fact, he was named on the bench 35 times before making his debut at Arsenal in the FA Cup in January. Bielsa admitted in December (via Yorkshire Evening Post) that he felt guilty for not providing the midfielder with more game-time, and suggested that it was unfair on the academy graduate.
The Sun on Sunday (26/7; page 63) reports that Leeds are now considering loaning the 20-year-old out for next season following their promotion.

And it is suggested that he may be sent to Huddersfield following Corberan’s appointment at the John Smith’s Stadium this week.
TBR View: Loan move for Gotts makes perfect sense
It was difficult to argue with Bielsa’s stance on loaning players out while Leeds were in the Championship.
The boss’ preference looked to be keeping the club’s brightest prospects at Thorp Arch, while the loan market seemed to be used for those who had little future at Elland Road. In fact, no player loaned out during Bielsa’s tenure has gone on to make a first-team appearance for the club following their return.
But with Leeds now playing at a higher level, that stance may need to change. It is going to be harder for the young players to break into the team.
In fairness, Gotts arguably showed at Arsenal that he could make an impact next term. But his lack of game-time since highlights how much competition he faces for a chance in the side.
A move to Huddersfield may allow Gotts to take his game to the next level. Corberan – whose main focus will be on the Terriers, of course – will be aware of what Bielsa will want to see from Gotts.
It may be the perfect step as the starlet looks to prove that he is good enough to become a key player for the Whites in the coming years.
