Leeds United may have to see off competition from two of Ligue 1’s biggest clubs if they hope to sign Romain Perraud, with the Daily Mail reporting that Lyon and Marseille also want the 23-year-old.

Perraud is attracting attention after a superb year with Brest. He has scored three and provided six assists in the top flight.

The Daily Mail notes that Gjanni Alioski is in talks with Galatasaray over a potential summer move. And Leeds are looking at Perraud to fill the void at left-back ahead of their second year back in the Premier League.

However, they are not the only side tracking the Frenchman. The Daily Mail also reports that Lyon and Marseille want Perraud.

TBR View: Leeds fans will welcome prestigious competition for some of their summer targets

Leeds are now in a position where they may actually hope to face some high-profile competition for their transfer targets.

They could end the campaign in the top-half of the Premier League. And there is a sense that the Whites are yet to realise their full potential under Marcelo Bielsa.

They should now be setting their sights on some more marquee names as they look to take that next step.

Admittedly, Perraud is not quite a household name at this stage of his career. But it says a lot that the likes of Lyon and Marseille are Leeds’s rivals for the full-back’s signature.
