Report: Leeds and West Ham want Matheus Pereira
Leeds United and West Ham are both interested in Matheus Pereira, with the Daily Express reporting that West Brom could sell for £30 million this summer.
Pereira is one player the Baggies are surely going to struggle to keep beyond this season. The 25-year-old is their top goalscorer. He has found the back of the net 10 times in the top flight.
His form in recent weeks has been outstanding. So it is no surprise to see a number of Premier League rivals eye a move for the Brazilian.
The Daily Express reports that Leeds, West Ham and Leicester City want the attacking midfielder. It is claimed that the Foxes lead the race for Pereira, who is also wanted by RB Leipzig.
The report adds that West Brom are set to want £30 million for him following relegation, having signed him permanently for just £8.25 million.
TBR View: Pereira could be an inspired signing for Leeds
It appears that Leeds have work to do to land Pereira – but he would be worth the effort. He has been frustrating at times. But he certainly has a piece of magic up his sleeve.
Not only does he lead West Brom’s scoring charts, but he also has more assists than any of his teammates.
And given his ability to play almost anywhere in the forward line, it is not difficult to see why Marcelo Bielsa is keen.
