Report: Leeds and West Ham enquire about £10m Arsenal talent

According to reports this weekend, both Leeds and West Ham have contacted Arsenal over the possibility of signing Arsenal striker, Eddie Nketiah.

Transfermarketweb claims that the Whites and Hammers have made enquiries with the Gunners about signing Nketiah. The young striker is expected to leave Arsenal, with first-team chances at a premium.

It’s suggested a fee in the region of £10m might be needed to prize Nketiah away from Mikel Arteta’s side.

Both Leeds and West Ham are looking for a new forward. For the Hammers, David Moyes is desperately seeking a player happy to compete with and probably play second fiddle to Michail Antonio. At Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa knows he needs more up top, with Patrick Bamford having gone a bit stale.

Nketiah had a spell at Elland Road a few seasons back. During that spell, he impressed in patches, notching five times in 19 games.

However, he’s never really made the breakthrough at Arsenal. He’s behind the likes of Lacazette and Aubameyang, while Folarin Balogun has also jumped the queue recently.

It’s time for Nketiah to make that next step in his career really. It’s not going to happen at Arsenal, so he needs a new home.

West Ham is the move which would keep him closer to home. But the Hammers are looking at a top four spot, and Nketiah could be quickly left behind again.

Leeds seems ideal. He knows the place well already, the fans liked him, and he can push Patrick Bamford a bit and get chances. There is a good player in there with Nketiah. His record for the England under-21s shows how good he can be.

But the time has come to really kick on. And if that January move presents itself, then he has to seize the moment and leave.
