Italian newspaper TuttoSport have claimed that Leeds United are battling Leicester City and German club Eintracht Frankfurt for AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega – as he continues to shine on loan at Serie A side Spezia.
Pobega, a two-time Italy Under-21 international, joined Spezia in the summer on a season loan without a permanent clause as he struggles to break into Milan’s senior side. He is yet to make his debut for Stefano Pioli’s men.
That is, despite Pobega clocking up a huge 52 appearances for the club’s second string. He instead joined Spezia on loan for the 2020-21 campaign, where he has impressed – even though it has been his first season in the top flight.
Pobega has scored three goals and laid on two assists in Spezia’s fight against the drop – even shining in a recent 2-1 win over Napoli in which he scored and created another. He is rated between £8.75million and £10.5million.

TBR’s view – Pobega could be a bargain buy this summer
Victor Orta is renowned for being shrewd in the transfer market. Now with a bit more money, he has been able to bring in Raphinha who looks a bargain at £17million. Robin Koch has also proved value for money at £13million.
Pobega is scoring and creating goals in a side that are sitting just above the drop zone. Chances are at a premium but he continues to provide creativity for Spezia in a strong Serie A division. He is still only 21.
Pobega has enormous potential and while Serie A leaders Milan might not want to let him go – a fee of £10.5million might help Milan make some summer additions. For Leeds, it is a small dip into the market – and a bargain.
