In a remarkable turn of events, Leeds United could be in the mix to sign Real Madrid and Brazil star, Marcelo, this summer.
The Mirror has claimed that Marcelo is eyeing up a move to the Premier League and that Leeds, as well as Everton, are leading the chase.
The 33-year-old is said to be on his way out of Madrid. The Spanish side are looking at a mini shake-up this summer, as they prepare to splash the cash in the coming windows and beyond.

Brazilian superstar Marcelo has been a mainstay of the team for around a decade now. He has won 58 caps for his country, while picking up four Champions League titles while in Madrid.
Now 33, Marcelo was once lauded by Diego Maradona as being the ‘best player in La Liga (behind Ronaldo and Messi). Some statement for the then 22-year-old to get off the Argentinian legend.
Leeds staying in the Premier League has opened the door for the club to look at some big name signings this summer. Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a fan of Marcelo.
Further, the Whites do also need a left-back. Marcelo, then, would be quite the jaw-dropping signing in West Yorkshire.
Marcelo to Leeds? What a signing this would be
The sheer thought of writing the words ‘Marcelo’ and ‘Leeds’ is enough to excite. A few years back, who’d have thought Leeds would ever be linked with such a world-class talent?
Marcelo is a brilliant player. He might be 33, but age is but a number for players of his calibre. Put simply, he’d be absolutely stunning in this Leeds team.
Given Bielsa gives his full-backs license to roam, Marcelo would thrive.
Of course, Everton and others will be sniffing. But if true, this is one for Leeds fans to be seriously excited about.
