Report: League winners make ‘hugely attractive’ offer to Arsenal for their 'phenomenal' player, he’s considering it
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has received a loan proposal from Al Hilal, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners reportedly want to part company with the 32-year-old in the January transfer window.
Aubameyang lost the Arsenal captaincy in December after a disciplinary breach.
The Gabon international hasn’t featured for the Gunners since the 2-1 defeat to Everton on 6 December last year.
Mikel Arteta appears to have run out of patience with Aubameyang, a player he said was “phenomenal” and “up there with the best” back in 2020.
Now, the Daily Mail has claimed that Al Hilal have put a package together to take Aubameyang on loan until the end of the season.
The reigning Saudi Arabian champions‘ offer reportedly has an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
In addition, Al Hilal are apparently willing to take on Aubameyang’s £350,000-a-week wages in full.
The Gunners are understood to be aware of Al Hilal’s interest in their former skipper.
Aubameyang and his advisors will consider the proposal in the coming days.
While Arsenal would likely accept the ‘hugely attractive’ formal offer, the decision ultimately rests with the player.
Al Nassr, who play in the Saudi Pro League alongside Al Hilal, are also reportedly interested in Aubameyang.
The Arsenal striker recently returned to London from the Africa Cup of Nations for medical examinations after being diagnosed with heart lesions following a positive covid test.
Following the medical check-up, Aubameyang posted on Instagram: “I came back to London to do some additional checks, and I’m very happy to say that my heart is absolutely fine and I’m completely healthy!
“Really appreciate all the messages over the last few days and I’m already back at it.”
