A report from Gazzetta dello Sport has detailed Lazio’s hopes of signing Marko Grujic from Liverpool this summer.
The Serbian talent is considered a big talent by Jurgen Klopp, however, Liverpool have seemingly outgrown the midfield maestro who is currently on loan at Hertha Berlin.
Gazzetta is reporting that Grujic is now potentially available for a fee in the region of €12 million (£10.7m). The Italian side is not interested in a potential loan deal for the player and are instead hoping to secure his permanent sale, which Liverpool are said to be open to.

It was recently reported by Goal that Liverpool did initially plan to sell Grujic this summer but were likely to reassess their stance amid the current global health crisis and resultant financial issues.
“We’re very pleased because Marko is a big talent and we’ve seen him a lot of times.
“When I came here, our scouts showed me some footage of a very skilled player from Red Star Belgrade. We watched it, we spoke to him, we met each other – he’s a good boy, a young boy but plays an important role at the moment at Red Star, who are the best team in Serbia.
“To describe him, I would say he’s a tall boy, but quick and good at technical things. He can play passes and can dribble. But he is young, so he has to develop. He will do this, so everything is okay.”
Grujic would be joining international team-mate Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at the Stadio Olimpico and would likely be his long-term replacement, given the interest in the Serbian star that is growing across Europe.
It would be a shame for Liverpool fans to lose Grujic, who Klopp was clearly a fan of when signing him in 2016. The Serbian was his first signing as Anfield boss and Klopp told the press at the time, as reported by The Express, that Grujic was a ‘big talent’.
But with the door seemingly shut on a first-team spot at Liverpool, agreeing a decent deal with Lazio for the player might now be the best option for the Premier League champions in waiting.
