According to The Sun, Arsenal duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are currently both in contract negotiations with the club. Whilst the pair are yet to sign on to new terms, talks are ongoing.
The north London club are determined not to let any more first team stars run down their contracts. Arsenal lost midfielder Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer this summer due to his contract expiring. They cannot afford to make such a mistake again.
Aubameyang has two years left to run on his current contract, whilst Lacazette still has three years to go. However, the Gunners are keen to take pre-emptive action to ensure that the strikers’ futures remain at the Emirates Stadium.

The attacking pair are important players in Unai Emery’s squad. Last season, they managed 50 goals between them in all competitions for Arsenal. Together, they forged a prolific partnership. They will likely play similarly vital roles in this campaign.
With the summer addition of Nicolas Pepe, the Gunners now boast an utterly formidable attacking trio. This is a unit that they will be keen to keep together for as long possible. However, the aforementioned report states that the club will not hesitate to cash in on either of the forwards if they refuse to sign a new contract, rather than risk losing either of them on free transfers.
