Spanish outlet SuperDeporte have claimed that La Liga side Levante have opened talks with the agents of Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella ahead of a potential free move – with the Spaniard’s contract expiring in June.
Chirivella, 22, has enjoyed his best season at Liverpool, clocking up six outings for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Though he did not make a single Premier League appearance, Chirivella played three times in the Carabao Cup – and three times in the FA Cup.
A holding midfielder, Chirivella was one of Liverpool’s best players in a 1-0 FA Cup win over Everton back in January – a match in which Curtis Jones curled a stunning effort into the top corner from 20 yards out.
However, Chirivella has seemingly played his last game for Liverpool. His contract expires in June and with Levante in contact with the player’s agents, it is likely that the midfielder is to leave Anfield – after just 11 senior appearances for the club.

TBR’s view – Levante an excellent move for Chirivella
Not only a return to Spain, Levante are a top side and with 11 La Liga games to play, Levante are sitting pretty far above the relegation zone in 13th place. Chirivella is more than likely to join a side that will take on the likes of Barcelona next term.
What Chirivella needs in his career – now he is 22 – is regular game time and if he can achieve that at Levante in a top-tier side, then it is an ideal move for the midfielder.
