Tottenham will reportedly complete a deal for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg once his medical is passed, after a deal was struck on Saturday for Kyle Walker-Peters to go the other way.

According to the Mirror, Spurs defender Walker-Peters has agreed terms to join Southampton in a £12million deal plus add-ons, after he spent the second half of last season on loan at St Mary’s.

It is understood that Hojbjerg will now undergo a Spurs medical to move in the opposite direction, with that deal expected to be worth £15million rising to £19million.

The report explains that although the two deals are separate, Spurs and Southampton plan to announce them together next week after Hojbjerg’s medical.

TBR’s View – Transfers good for both clubs

Spurs and Southampton are two clubs that have been busy in communication over two separate transfers and at the end of it they can both be pleased with the outcome.

Jose Mourinho’s side look like they are about to add a midfield enforcer in 25-year-old Hojbjerg to their squad, who is going to add some extra defensive steel to the side and is a potential bargain.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Walker-Peters made a strong impression on loan with the Saints and he’s joining a side where he’s getting a real crack at first-team football under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
