Report: Kun Temenuzhkov set to leave Leeds for return to Spain

Leeds United may seemingly not be planning to sign any players on deadline day, but the Yorkshire Evening Post reports on its live transfer blog (31/1; 13:35) that youngster Kun Temenuzhkov could leave Elland Road before the window closes.

Kun Temenuzhkov is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Whites this season. He made his senior debut last January however. And interestingly, he recently penned a new contract.

Leeds confirmed on their official website back in September that the Bulgarian was one of the under-23 players to extend his deal at Thorp Arch.

However, just a few months later, it appears that Temenuzhkov is on his way out of the club.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has suggested on its live transfer blog (31/1; 13:35) that the 19-year-old could leave for Spain before the end of the day.

It is noted that third tier side La Nucia are the favourites to land the teenager.

TBR View – Temenuzhkov exit will disappoint, but has perhaps been on cards

It will disappoint some Leeds supporters that Temenuzhkov appears to be heading towards the exit.

There was plenty of excitement following his 2017 arrival, with the youngster previously spending a significant period of time in Barcelona’s academy.

And there have been times when he has looked like an exciting prospect with the under-23s. However, it may not be a surprise that he is seemingly on the way out.

It is more than a year since he last played for the first-team. And with Patrick Bamford, Jean-Kevin Augustin and surely Ryan Edmondson ahead of him in the pecking order, it was difficult to imagine him getting another opportunity anytime soon.

It remains to be seen if Temenuzhkov leaves permanently or on loan. But even a loan move would suggest that the writing could be on the wall.

None of the players loaned out last season have found a way into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans this season. And many have now left the club altogether.
