Report: Kroenke's have given Mikel Arteta full Arsenal backing

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta looks set to keep hold of his job with the Gunners for some time yet, after receiving backing from the Kroenke’s.

Arteta has come under some early pressure this season thanks to a slow start to the Premier League season. However, a win against Norwich last weekend and another three points at Burnley today have eased things a bit.

But despite the apparent outside pressure building, Football.London reports that the Arsenal owners have personally assured Arteta over his future.

After backing their man with over £150m in the summer, it appears the board and ownership are willing to be patient with the Spaniard. And for Arteta, that means he’ll be getting the time he’ll feel is needed to fully turn things around.

Arteta spoke in the week how he feels things are coming right for him and his Arsenal side. Certainly, the improved performance at Burnley today is another positive sign.

TBR’s View: Arsenal have to stick with Arteta for now at least

Due to the backing the board having given Arteta, it makes little sense for them to consider even looking elsewhere. Otherwise, they’ll be back to square one.

Arteta, though, does need to produce the goods. Results must start to flow consistently and if he can do that, then his job will be safe.

But, as we know, things can change quickly in football. And if Arsenal were to have a bad run of results, then the Spaniard might well find himself under more pressure.
