According to a report from Foot Mercato, Liverpool are interested in signing Le Havre striker Andy Elysee Logbo in the summer.

The Reds’ priority in the summer transfer window will be to sort out Mohamed Salah’s contract, but Jurgen Klopp is keeping an eye on the long-term future of the club as well.

Liverpool have a bunch of exciting young players coming through. The likes of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot have already burst onto the scene, while others like Tyler Morton, Conor Bradley and Kaide Gordon will be the next to make their name at the club after their debuts this season.

A talented young striker from France, who Liverpool have been keeping an eye on for quite some time now, could join them soon.

Liverpool eye move for Andy Elysee Logbo

Logbo, still only 17, is a product of Le Havre’s prestigious academy that helped players like Dimitri Payet, Riyad Mahrez and Paul Pogba become the superstars they are today.

The teenager is viewed by many at the club as the next big thing and Liverpool have been watching him for a long time.

The report claims that the Reds and a number of other French clubs are keeping tabs on Logbo, who has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 13 games for the youth side this season.

Liverpool, however, have an edge over all the other interested clubs as they once invited Logbo to their training facility back when he was 15. The youngster flew over to Merseyside and already knows what the club is like.

Romelu Lukaku 2.0

Logbo is an imposing figure up top and is almost always the most powerful player on the pitch. He loves duels and has the ability to weigh down defences with his physicality.

People at Le Havre who watch him regularly believe that the 17-year-old is the ‘future Romelu Lukaku’.

That may be a bit of a stretch this early in his career, but his style of play is fairly similar to that of the Chelsea and Belgium superstar, and it is no surprise that so many clubs want to sign him soon.

Logbo, who ironically shares his birth month with Lukaku as well, will turn 18 in May and if Liverpool are to sign him, it will be after his birthday in three months time.
