Report: Key Tottenham player now back training outside, his return could be imminent
Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski is back training on the grass and could make a return before the World Cup.
The Evening Standard have provided an update on the Sweden international, who has not played since returning from the September international break with a hamstring problem.
His absence has been keenly felt by Spurs, as their lack of attacking alternatives has been laid bare and they have struggled to create opportunities.
Son Heung-min is now going to miss Sunday’s game against Liverpool and needs to have surgery on the injury he suffered in Marseille.
Kulusevski training outside
Kulusevski is still not fully fit but has been training outside as he continues his route to recovery before the World Cup.
The report says the Swede is hopeful of returning before the break for the tournament, which Kulusevski’s nation did not qualify for.
It appears Richarlison is just behind his teammate in terms of recovery but is close to a return to outdoor training after a calf injury.
The absences of Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison provide a problem for Antonio Conte going into another huge game against Liverpool.
They have started slowly in recent games, before pulling them back around, and Liverpool have conceded the opening goal often this season.
So it could be a cagey start before the game bursts into life after half-time, but plenty of the attacking burden will fall on Harry Kane.
