Aston Villa have decided to keep Keinan Davis at the club. There were offers from the Championship for Davis but Aston Villa want him in their Premier League squad, according to The Birmingham Mail.
Considering Aston Villa are now playing Premier League football, there were question marks over Davis’ short-term future. The physical centre-forward only managed seven outings last season in an injury-hit campaign.
But Aston Villa want to keep Davis at the club this summer to act as a back-up target man to Wesley Moraes and Jonathan Kodjia. The 21-year-old, who has scored three times in 44 games for the Villans, has impressed enough in pre-season to convince Dean Smith to keep him.

There were several offers from Championship clubs to sign Davis this summer. Among the teams interested were Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City. But Aston Villa will ignore these offers, especially as Scott Hogan edges closer to an exit.
TBR’s view
This is a big season for Davis. With just one year remaining on his contract, he needs to convince Smith he is good enough to be an Aston Villa player. He showed signs of promise in pre-season and now he needs to translate this into the competitive environment.
In the Championship, Davis impressed with his strength, physicality and hold-up play. If the England U20 striker can add goals to his game, he could be an important player for Aston Villa.
