Report: Juventus thinking about making move for Liverpool-linked Thiago Alcantara

Liverpool are facing increasing competition as they bid to land Bayern Munich midfielder, Thiago Alcantara, with reports from Italy claiming Juventus are now considering a move for the Spaniard.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Turin giants are ‘thinking about’ making a move to the Munich star.

The news comes in the wake of Thiago being heavily linked with a move to Anfield. Numerous reports from Germany in the past few weeks have suggested a deal could be close between the Reds and Spanish maestro.

However, with no deal being concluded, it looks like other European giants are making their presence felt in the situation.

Along with Juventus, it is also claimed Manchester City are monitoring Thiago’s situation. Indeed, Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of the midfielder having worked together in Spain and Germany.

The Reds, then, will hope that Juventus are simply doing just that and only ‘thinking about’ a deal. If Juve does decide to move, we’ve seen in recent years they aren’t afraid to splash the cash.

The longer this lingers the more worrying it looks for Liverpool – TBR View

A few weeks ago, this deal looked like it might get done pretty quickly. The excitement was building on Merseyside and it seemed like Liverpool were going to get even stronger.

However, it’s lingered on now without any real progress and more and more other teams seem to be in the hunt.

Juventus don’t mess about in the transfer market, either. They chuck money at things if they want a player and can no doubt offer Thiago impressive terms over in Italy.

Liverpool need to be acting quickly if they want to land Thiago. Otherwise, they might well lose out on one of Europe’s best midfield players to a European rival.
