Report: Juventus prepared to swap Daniele Rugani to get Arsenal star Hector Bellerin

A report in Italy is suggesting that Juventus could have a potential transfer plan in place to sign the Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin this summer.

TuttoJuve is reporting that the Spanish star is high on the agenda for Juventus regarding recruitment this summer.

They are even considering a potential swap deal to secure the transfer. The report claims Juventus could offer Arsenal the centre-back Daniele Rugani to make a deal happen.

Arsenal fans will be familiar with Rugani, who has been linked with an Emirates switch on numerous occasions.

Last summer it appeared as though Arsenal were set to sign the 26-year-old, who has seven caps for Italy.

However, as reported by Tuttosport, Arsenal were not happy with the obligation to buy Rugani at the end of any loan deal, with a price set at €30 million (£27m). That came after reports from The Sun that former Arsenal boss Unai Emery had added the Italian to his list of wanted players in defence.

Bellerin, meanwhile, has been linked with a potential move away from Arsenal this summer. The Telegraph reported last month that Arsenal would be willing to sell Bellerin if they received a significant offer for his services. That fee was said to be in the region of £50 million. It came after Sky Germany reported that Bellerin had confirmed to them a desire to move on from North London this summer.

Arsenal have recently signed Cedric Soares permanently and Ainsley Maitland-Niles provides adequate cover at right-back.

With the club said to be keen on another centre-back arrival, former target Rugani might prove a temptation worth sacrificing Bellerin for if the deal makes financial sense.

Considering Rugani’s lack of first-team action this season, Arsenal will likely expect a cash sum on top of any swap deal for Bellerin.

At which point this becomes a transfer rumour with some legs.
